| The First Baptist Church was organized in 1903 and the present sanctuary was constructed in the 1960's. As was typical during this period, the trend was dark walls, low lighting, and fixed instrument and choir rails. Sanctuary renovations completed in 1997 updated the lighting, pulpit, and choir areas. Restoration included replacing the dark paneling with painted walls and re-arrangement of the pulpit and choir areas for more openness, versatility, and comfort. Special lighting and a dimmer system were added which greatly improved the visual comfort and enhanced the worship atmosphere. We completed the project on time and under the construction budget. |
